Emma-Kate is a classically trained soprano who melds her pure lyrical voice with the timeless melodies of her Irish heritage. She is a multiple award winning artist who has a grá or love for Irish Song which is reflected in her Debut CD, ‘Aisling na nGael’ (An Irish Dream).Initially embraced by the New York Irish, Emma-Kate is currently breaking out nationally in the USA with her CD as well as at home in Ireland.Emma-Kate was interviewed on US national television on WNBC on St. Patrick’s Day in NY where she was also invited to help the ring the bell at the NY Stock Exchange. She embarked on a tour of the USA in December ’09  and also in ’10 , performing in 19 different cities from Chicago to Florida in a Classic Irish Christmas Tour. March 2010 saw Emma Kate perform outside the New York Stock Exchange that was televised along with her video opening the New York St Patrick’s Day Parade TV coverage on NBC. She then went on her first solo tour in the USA called An Irish Dream and this year performed with the High Kings and Michael Flatley in New York and sang live on the John Murray Show on RTE Radio 1. Kinsale Arts Week is a multi-disciplinary Arts Festival. It commissions new work in all genres and supports both established and emerging artists.

The programme features Local, National, and International work, and includes Visual Art, Theatre, Music, Literature, Film, Dance, Architecture, and Family Entertainment. There is a keen emphasis on community involvement in the festival with many community members engaged in year-round festival projects as well as volunteering at festival time. Local artists also have the opportunity to showcase their work. The Festival seeks to use all possible performance spaces in the historic town including the harbour, the streets, boats, churches and other unusual spaces.
