Brent Pope & Miss Cork in Kinsale today for the press release of the Kinsale Wedding Showcase - Sunday 13th June !
Kinsale Combines to Host Unique Wedding Showcase
Kinsale, County Cork, known as the gourmet capital and also Ireland’s Ultimate Wedding Destination, will host a unique 1-stop Wedding Showcase on Sunday, June 13, as part of a major Kinsale Chamber of Tourism driven initiative.
Following the international success of the recent “Ultimate Job in the World – Honeymoon Tester” where the town was selected to host the final, the Chamber has come up with a novel collective approach for a Wedding Fair.
Two of the most important considerations for prospective Bride & Grooms are the location and venue, and what they have to offer in terms of quality, style, accessibility and price – and Kinsale fits on all fronts.
Kinsale, a romantic historic setting has everything – from luxurious hotels to charming hostelries, boutique hotels to fabulous private estates, award winning bars and restaurants, old churches, lush gardens, spectacular harbour and marina, world class golf courses, breath-taking hill-top views, ancient castles and forts and more….Perfect for the wedding day and the day after or before.
In addition there is every type of wedding supplier in the town or close-by that a couple will need for their special day – from florists, cake makers, limousines and bus transfers, photographers, milliners, Bridal Shop, Florist, musicians and more… and now within even easier reach by road, rail, sea or plane.
“We feel we have a very special product here in Kinsale, and not just its unparalleled natural beauty and gourmet reputation,” said Ciaran Fitzgerald, Chairperson on Kinsale Chamber of Tourism.
“There are lots of Wedding Fairs at Hotels and Conference Centres throughout the country. Our approach is different. Kinsale the town is the host under the auspices of the Chamber. So instead of each Wedding venue holding one-off Wedding Fairs, we will all showcase our wedding related wares on the same day and open it up as the whole town… giving the very clear message that Kinsale is open for wedding business and is indeed “Ireland’s Ultimate Wedding Destination” with so much more to offer.
“A decision on a wedding is more than just the location and venue, but we feel that we tick all the boxes – giving us a unique advantage for this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is a Wedding Showcase with a difference and a platform to show what we have to offer. There is a wedding to suit all budgets from large to small and will help couples see the complete picture.”
As part of this initiative Kinsale will also be launching its new-look website www.kinsale.ie shortly with a dedicated wedding section, detailing the showcase programme and all suppliers taking part. It will also highlight the growing trend for alternative and more informal Civil Ceremonies.
Kinsale, is a more cost effective and stress free “Staycation” Wedding Destination on your doorstep, and has become even more accessible:
- new road network now running virtually the length of the country making it just under 3 hours from Dublin by road and all highway north as far as Belfast
- the new Cork International Airport just 2o minutes to Kinsale,
- the recent massive overhaul of the National Train Network and carriage upgrade
- the recent relaunch of the Cork Swansea Ferry
- Cork to Kinsale Road Upgrade – completion due soon
The Wedding Showcase Day will have Kinsale’s five main hotels, The Carlton, Actons, The Trident, White Lady Hotel and the Blue Haven as well Ballinacurra House, an Exclusive Use Private Estate, presenting their wedding collections, while the towns other bridal suppliers will open up for their special offerings between 2 – 6 pm on Sunday June 13, 2010.
In conclusion Chairperson Fitzgerald said that; “‘Kinsale’s main strength over the years is its ability to work together and ensure the ultimate customer experience when in Kinsale. We now believe we can achieve the Ultimate Wedding experience for every couple coming to Kinsale and June 13th is the first step in showcasing what we can do together in the town.”
